Planning and delivery heads · Staffing dashboard
How staffing is going, and what idle time will cost
The first screen a delivery lead sees after signing in. Three rings say whether the system can be trusted today, two charts show demand and cost, and the open tasks that start soonest are one click away.

The problem
Staffing health lives in five places: the matching tool, a bench spreadsheet, HR's tracker and a finance report. Nobody sees idle cost coming until the month it lands.
How it works
- 1Rings show how often managers agree with the model, how many profiles are ready for matching, and how many open tasks already have a shortlist. A ring stays empty until there is enough data to say.
- 2Bars compare tasks opened and filled in each of the last six months.
- 3The open tasks starting soonest are listed with how many people each run recommended.
- 4Bench idle cost for the next 12 months is worked out day by day from the rate card if nothing new is booked, with the part held by people who fit an open task. Download it as CSV.
What's included
Staffing dashboard
One screen for how staffing is going: how often managers agree with the model, how many profiles are ready, which open tasks have a shortlist, tasks opened and filled each month, and the bench's idle cost for the next 12 months with the part open tasks could recover.
Where teams use it
- For resource managers in it services and consultingStaff an open task with the right personRank everyone who can actually take a task, with a probability and a cited reason for each person, and keep the final call with the manager.
- For delivery heads and resource management officesCut bench time and idle costSee who is free now and in the next 30, 60 and 90 days, what idle time costs each week, and which open tasks each person could take.
Questions about staffing dashboard
Is the idle-cost chart a forecast?
It shows what idle time would cost if nothing new were booked: today's allocations and free-from dates priced at your rate card. It is the cost you can still avoid, not a prediction of what will happen.
Why is a ring empty?
Agreement with the model is only shown once managers have made enough decisions for the rate to mean something. FitRank shows the count so far instead of a misleading percentage.
