Hire from outside or move someone in? Compare both

Every open task carries a hire-or-move card: the strongest person inside, the strongest candidate HR has found, and a plain recommendation with its reasons.

A FitRank task page for a React developer with Java: must-have and nice-to-have skills, two completed matching runs and a hire-or-move card recommending an internal person
A task, its runs and the hire-or-move call

The problem

Teams hire for roles they could have filled internally, or wait for an internal move that never comes, because nobody puts the two options side by side.

How it works

  1. 1FitRank takes the best recommended person from the task's latest matching run.
  2. 2It takes the best outside candidate who passes the same rules.
  3. 3It compares fit, start date and margin, and suggests moving someone inside or hiring from outside.
  4. 4The manager decides, and the decision is recorded.

Questions about hire or move

Are outside candidates judged by different rules?

No. Candidates are ranked with the same rules and facts as employees; their availability is their notice period.

Does FitRank decide whether to hire?

No. It shows both options with reasons and suggests one. The manager decides.
